About Tomas
I'm Tomas! I've been playing chess for 13 years and teaching it for 4 years, and I still get excited every time a student spots their first fork on their own. I'm a 2500 rated player who believes chess isn't about memorizing 20 moves of theory — it's about learning to think. My lessons are friendly, interactive, and tailored to you: we'll analyze your own games, fix the specific mistakes holding you back, and build a study plan that fits your schedule. Whether you're learning how the pieces move or pushing toward your next rating milestone, I'll meet you exactly where you are.

I've taught chess to 350+ students, from complete beginners (kids and adults) to club players rated 350-2200. My students have gained an average of 150 rating points in their first 4 months, and several have won National titles. My method focuses on the three things that improve players fastest: tactical pattern recognition, understanding why moves work instead of memorizing them, and reviewing your own games together. I use interactive boards, puzzles matched to your level, and homework that takes 15 minutes a day — not overwhelming opening files you'll never read.
