Continue to play through the 'Subdivisions' exercise sheet and work on keeping a solid pulse throughout - experiment with playing some of these as 1 bar drum fills and have a go at mixing them together as demonstrated during the lesson. Practice working on dynamic control as mentioned with the 16th note accent exercises while keeping good time. Once you're feeling confident with those on the snare, try orchestrating the accents around the kit!

Miguel is an ambitious drummer who showed a passion for learning and pushing his drumming skills to the next level. The song we worked on during the lesson is certainly challenging for a beginner with the quick tempo and various sections and changes. focus on groove and getting comfortable with each section of the song - work on one part at a time - with the main focus on keeping good time with the consistent backbeat on beats 2 and 4. Also work on the exercises we spoke about on the snare and around the toms (with a metronome) to increase your single stroke speed!
