About Ayumi
I'm a professional saxophonist based in New York and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. I have spent many years performing, recording, and collaborating with musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds.
In addition to performing, I have experience teaching at a music school and enjoy helping students discover their own unique sound. I believe that music is more than learning notes and scales—it's about finding your own voice and enjoying the process of making music.
Whether you're learning for fun or working toward professional goals, I look forward to helping you grow as a musician.

Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals, whether you're a complete beginner, returning to the saxophone, or looking to develop your jazz improvisation.
Lessons can include tone production, breathing, technique, jazz improvisation, ear training, music theory, rhythm, and repertoire. I teach saxophone with a particular focus on tenor and soprano, while also welcoming alto saxophone students.
My goal is to make each lesson practical, inspiring, and enjoyable. I want students not only to improve their technique but also to develop confidence, creativity, and their own musical voice. Lessons are available in English and Japanese.
