About David
David Santiago Gómez Contrabajista He began his musical studies at the age of 14 years with trumpet player Carlos García and bassist Miguel Araujo. Initially he trained as a guitarist, later he began his preparation in electric bass and in 2016 he began his studies as a double bassist in the Sergio Arboleda University together with the maestro Jorge Licero. He has participated in projects such as the pre-juvenile Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá under the direction of Rubian Zuluaga and Gregorio Baquero as a workshop teacher. Being part of this group, he receives different orchestral workshops with directors like Marin Alsop (along with the NYO-USA orchestra) and Patrick Fournillier. Along with his orchestral training he participates in the Andean String Orchestra of Sergio Arboleda University under the direction of Jhon Montenegro, exploring sonorities of the Andean region. In 2017 he joined the Bandolas Colombian Orchestra playing Bandola Contrabajo, under the direction of maestro Fabián Forero, with whom he has participated in various concerts and festivals such as the V Festival of Pulsed Strings of the University of Costa Rica in that country and in Bogotá with orchestras like La Orden de la Terraza de España. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate studies, participating in different musical projects of various universities and being part of various projects and concerts of traditional, popular and jazz music along with masters such as Diego Saboya, Edwin Guevara, Diego Bahamon, Guillem Pérez-Quer, among others.

My teaching method includes an evaluation of the specific skills developed by my students and their personal goals, to design a personalized curriculum that allows to enhance their skills and achieve their own personal goals. Additionally, the curriculum is flexible, adjusting to the needs and context of the student, to make the most of their time and creating study methods.
