About Travis

I’ve been playing or coaching baseball for over 40 years and have seen the instructional approach to the game evolve over the years, not necessarily for the better. My philosophy is simple, there’s only one way to play the game and that is the right way.

I coach on a three pronged approach: 1.Mental Preparation - Believing you can succeed. 2. Proper Technique - preventing injury and increasing confidence and 3. Physical Ability- strengthening to body to support mind and technique.

The greatest gift I can give back to game is helping others become better players.

I thoroughly enjoy witnessing players as they develop. By laying down a solid mental and physical foundation, I find that players really begin to enjoy the game. After all, that's what it's all about.

When my son became interested in the sport, we joined a local little league. It became readily apparent that the players were not being taught the fundamentals of the game. This was cause for concern not only from an injury perspective, but setting the player up for failure at the next level and hurting morale.

40 years of direct baseball experience on both sides of the line. This give the unique ability to see things from a players perspective while conveying a coaches point of view.

In order to get where you're going you need to know where your at. I begin with a brief evaluation of the player (technique, Body movement, mental approach, etc). I grade they player accordingly with added notes. This becomes the basis for my plan.  Next I set expectations, both what I expect of the player and what they can expect from me. From there we begin work at the appropriate level.

I've worked with students from T-ball through DI in all positions.

Cheaper is not better, and niether is the most expensive. The key is to find an instructor who you can relate to. After all you will have to absorb what's taught and you're paying the bill. You will get the most benefit from someone who knows what they are talking about and can relay the information in a manner that you understand.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be honest with your self assessment. You can't get better unless you acknowledge your areas of opportunity. A good instructor will make an evaluation for themselves and mesh that with the students perspective to agree upon a strategy for improvement.
