About Holly
I’m a confident, friendly and adaptable communicator with experience teaching and mentoring students of different ages and abilities. I have taught children internationally as a TEFL-qualified English tutor, supported younger students through widening access initiatives, mentored medical students and recently delivered a peer-teaching session on chronic eye diseases to fellow medical students.
My interest in Biology extends beyond the classroom. I was an Immerse Education Biology Essay Scholarship Winner for my essay exploring the impact of genetics on human behaviour and achieved 3rd place globally in the Girls International Three-Minute Science Video Competition for presenting theories on the causes of nut allergy.
I love helping students understand why things happen rather than simply memorising facts, and aim to make every lesson engaging, encouraging and tailored to the individual. Outside of medicine, I’m a BUCS netball player, marathon runner and Grade 8 musical theatre performer, which has taught me plenty about discipline, resilience and commitment.

I’m a high-achieving 4th-year Medical Student at Newcastle University, with an A* in A-Level Biology and Grade 9 at GCSE. I make lessons engaging and personalised, using clear explanations, active recall, exam-focused techniques and tried-and-tested memory tricks.
I have teaching experience from younger children to fellow medical students, including recently taking part in a peer-teaching session for medical students. My Biology achievements include winning an Immerse Education Biology Essay Scholarship for my essay on genetics and human behaviour, and placing 3rd globally in the Girls International Three-Minute Science Video Competition for presenting theories on the causes of nut allergy. At school I was also awarded the Biology Prize.
