About Miriam
I am a dedicated health-science educator with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Biotechnology with IT (Second Class Honours, Upper Division), professional experience teaching at a medical college, and ongoing training in education through a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
I have extensive teaching experience in Human Anatomy and Physiology and have also taught Hematology, Parasitology and other health-science subjects to students in different medical and healthcare programmes. My teaching experience has given me the opportunity to work with learners at different levels and to explain complex scientific concepts in a clear, structured and approachable way.
I am patient, supportive and committed to creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenging topics. Whether you need help understanding a difficult concept, preparing for an examination, reviewing coursework or strengthening your foundation in a subject, I will tailor our lessons to your individual learning needs.
My goal is not simply to help you memorise information, but to help you understand the concepts, apply your knowledge and develop confidence in your subject.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, practical and focused on helping learners understand concepts rather than simply memorising information. I begin by identifying the learner’s current level, areas of difficulty and learning objectives, then tailor each lesson to their needs.
I use clear explanations, guided questioning, examples, diagrams, illustrations and interactive discussions to make complex health-science concepts easier to understand. For subjects such as Human Anatomy and Physiology, Hematology and Parasitology, I connect theoretical concepts to clinical and real-life applications where appropriate. I also use short questions and formative assessments during lessons to check understanding and identify areas that need further explanation.
A typical lesson lasts 90 minutes, although I can adjust the duration depending on the learner’s needs, level and topic. A lesson may include a brief review of previous work, introduction of the new concept, detailed explanation with examples, interactive questions, and a short assessment or summary at the end.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Medical Biotechnology with IT (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) and have professional experience teaching at a medical college.
I have taught Human Anatomy and Physiology extensively, as well as Hematology, Parasitology and other health-science subjects to students from different medical and healthcare programmes. I am also undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with teaching methods in Biology and health and community services from KCA university., which has further strengthened my knowledge of teaching methodology, assessment and learner-centred instruction.
My lessons are suitable for college and university students, health-science students, and learners studying Biology or related subjects, as well as students preparing for examinations. I can also support learners who need additional help understanding difficult topics, revising coursework, preparing for assessments, or developing a stronger foundation in the subject.
