About Emily
I am a young, charismatic and friendly English teacher who has experience teaching primary and secondary students with a range of abilities. I have taught both the langauge and literature GCSE and have experience in the following GCSE literature texts: Lord of the Flies, Romeo and Juliet, Power and Conflict Poetry, An Inspector Calls, Macbeth and Jekyll and Hyde. I have also worked alongside year 6 students in preparation for their SATs exams.
Prior to teaching, I obtained a first class law degree from the University of Derby. For a year, I worked in a leading law firm in Birmingham in their clinical negligence team as a paralegal. I have volunteer experience with the probation service, victim support and a local youth charity in Nechells.
Outside the hustle and bustle of working life, I have two wonderful French Bulldogs who love heaps of attention. I love walking, yoga, pilates, swimming and badminton.

My son really struggled to grasp English in his school during his GCSE's and wasn't getting the C grade he needed.
After going through grammar and evaluating poems and literature Emily got my son to finally understand and utilise this in his lessons and practice exam papers.A committed ,dynamic English teacher who always goes the extra mile for her students.She will add fun ,think outside of the box for her lessons so that her pupils learn but retain the information.She is organised ,a good time keeper ,smart,personable and able to work with pupils on all levels.
