About Courtney
My name is Courtney. I am 23 years old and I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. I now live in Cape Town, which is most famous for Table Mountain, Robben Island, and the Cape of Good Hope. One of my favourite places to go in Cape Town is Boulder’s Beach where you can watch a colony of African penguins swimming, sleeping and sunbathing.
My hobbies include spending time with my friends – indoors or outdoors, creating art, and watching movies. I enjoy reading alternative fictional books and learning about the stars and planets.
I am a passionate and capable teacher and would love to get more experience to expand my knowledge too!

While teaching, I prefer to be more of a facilitator of learning, meaning that I do not want my students to hear what I say and then just parrot talk back to me. I want my students to understand what they are saying and doing so that they can take what they’ve learnt and use it in so many other contexts. The tools I use for teaching I specifically choose to make sure that each student has an equal opportunity to learn.
I am proficient in English, and Afrikaans, and have a basic education in isiZulu and isiXhosa.
I have experience teaching ages 5-9 years but would love to have the experience to teach older students. Let us learn together!
