• 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  It all started in 2009, when I started teaching my class mate and the whole school biology in Jet Club. Most of my teachers told me I can teach and I should take it as a profession. I picked interest in biology because I had a perfect score 100/100 in SS 2. I started teaching my junior from another school, they came to my house to learn Biology, physics and Chemistry. I noticed they learnt more from me than from the school they attended and they became the best student in their classes. So I picked interest in tutoring to make student better even as a student.

• 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach Biology, Physics and Chemistry. I teach biology offhand from the beginning of the syllabus to the end. I ask my student his best topic and I will teach without preparing. Some people call me walking biology.

• 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  Professor Oguzie F. Is my role model, he is my professor during my undergraduate program he inspires me.

• 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  1. The ability to communicate you knowledge
  2. Must be trustworthy
  3. Must be teachable even as a tutor
  4. Must know the subject completely, must be broad.

• 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  My new Biology teacher complained that we all don't answer questions in class and believed we are all dull, so he said he will test one of us that if we get 1 out of 10 he will give us 1000naira, then that was a big money to us. So he pointed me and gave me test from Lamlad Biology, I answered within a minute and he started marking just for him to discover that I scored 10/10 he then said for the 1000 naira sake he will not mark me right so he failed one and didn't fulfil his promises. That made him realize that the fact that we don't talk in class doesn't mean we are dull, in exam we had 100/100 (laugh). I had more than 10 Biology Textbook.

• 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  I teach beyond the syllabus, I can start from some where the student knowledge of the subject ended.

• 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  I love Teaching, I just graduated as the best student in my class with a first class I hope to become a lecturer, I just love teaching. I love science courses, I can also teach and consult for aquaculture.

  The experiences and the spirit of excellence which makes me do very well in anything I do.
