About Shivani
Hello! I’m Shivani, an experienced online tutor with **9 years of teaching experience** and a **Master’s degree in Technology**.
I teach **Computer Science/programming** to students from Year 7 to Year 12. I have experience teaching across **NSW/HSC, CBSE, ICSE, GCSE and IGCSE** curricula.
I believe every student can improve when concepts are explained clearly and patiently. My teaching focuses on understanding rather than memorization, with an emphasis on strong fundamentals, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
I adapt my lessons to each student's learning level, pace and goals. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an exam, strengthening fundamentals or challenging themselves with more advanced problems, I create lessons around their individual needs.
I provide a friendly and supportive learning environment where students can ask questions freely and build confidence. My goal is to help students not only achieve better results, but also become confident and independent learners.

My Teaching Approach
I believe students learn best when they understand why and how something works rather than simply memorizing formulas or answers. With 9 years of teaching experience, I use a clear, structured and student-centered approach, adapting each lesson to the student's current level, learning pace and goals.
I break difficult concepts into simple steps and use worked examples, visual explanations, practice questions and real-world applications wherever appropriate. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking so that I can identify and address gaps in understanding.
My typical Class Structure
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous learning and a discussion of the student's goals or areas of difficulty. I then introduce or explain the new concept step-by-step, work through examples with the student, and gradually move towards independent problem-solving.
Towards the end of the lesson, I check understanding, clarify any remaining doubts and provide practice questions or homework where appropriate. For exam preparation, I also use curriculum-aligned and past examination questions to develop accuracy, confidence and exam technique.
What Makes My Classes Different
My focus is not just on helping students get the correct answer, but on helping them understand the reasoning behind it. I am patient and encourage students to ask questions without hesitation. I particularly enjoy helping students who feel they are "weak" in a subject by strengthening their fundamentals and building their confidence step by step.
Who My Classes Are For
I teach Year 7–12 students in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science/programming. I have experience with NSW/HSC, CBSE, ICSE, GCSE and IGCSE curricula. My classes are suitable for students who need help strengthening fundamentals, keeping up with schoolwork, preparing for assessments and exams, or extending their understanding of challenging topics.
