40 Years Experience as a Tutor - and I am not what you might think of!

Stephen is an energetic, enthusiastic, and very positive tutor. He taught TEFL - a two day course.
He is very kind and approachable. No question is too big of small for him to answer. He if full of useful information to make the learning experience enjoyable .

In an intensive course that was 2 days long and 11 hours in each day, he made the weekend not only stomach-able but very enjoyable! Explains things very well, not only with words but with body language. Also very friendly and nice.

I did a weekend TEFL course recently, which was taught by Stephen. From the start he was warm and welcoming, making everyone feel at ease. Very quickly everyone was engaged and learning and having a lot of fun. He is obviously a very experienced teacher with a gift for helping and encouraging people to learn quickly and effectively.

Steve was highly engaging straight from the beginning and kept the energy levels high throughout each day. The environment and teaching he provided made it not only easy to learn from him, but fun to do so as well.

I was taught by Steve for a weekend TEFL course in Nottingham, August 2017.
As part of the course he illustrated how we would be required to teach none-English speakers English by teaching us none-German speakers German.
We learnt German that day.
We learnt a lot about teaching in a language the students don't speak and Steve did this amazingly.

I truly wish I'd had Steve as a teacher in my school days.

As a mature adult student preparing to Teach English as a Foreign Language, I was recently required to attend an intense weekend study programme to qualify myself to present teaching of the english language by using different techniques for foreign students.
Our course tutor was Stephen Clarke who demonstrated the different techniques we will require and the stumbling blocks we could experience whilst doing so. He has helped me understand the tenses of this complex language and how I can present to future learners I may come across.
Stephen is a vibrant, resourceful teacher with a kindly and understanding approach. He showed patience, knowledge and evidence that his teaching methods are successful. He has a commanding presence in the classroom that makes learning easy, fun and interesting.
He is a friendly, approachable lecturer who brings out the best in his students.
I certainly would have no hesitation in recommending him as an EFL Teacher.

Stephen taught me for the classroom portion of the TEFL 120 Hour combined course. He was positive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. He explained everything in detail, made sure everyone understood both the activity and the reasons behind it, and kept the 20 hours fun and engaging. Although the schedule of the classroom section was intensive, as it was done over 2 long days, I loved it, in large part due to Stephen's teaching methods. I absolutely recommend him as a tutor.

Steve taught the classroom part of my TEFL course this year. He was excellent - putting me at ease and very knowledgeable in everything relating to teaching English as a foreign language.

I was on a weekend course Stephen ran, as part of a TEFL course, in July. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the skills needed to be a successful and creative TEFL teacher. He made everybody in the group feel comfortable and confident very quickly with his warm personality and great sense of humour. He showed a wide knowledge of his subject and many other languages and cultures. He offered support and encouragement during the practical stages of the course and gave useful advice to all students throughout the weekend.

His lessons are fun and engaging and he was able to adapt his teaching around the individual needs of the group.
