In ensuring that I am effective in my practice in the teaching process there are a number of steps and procedures that must be executed. The first step is the assessment of the students to determine their level of readiness for the selected level of content and concept. This is the most important step in the teaching-learning process. If the assessment is both valid and reliable and the student is ready, the second step can be started. If students are not ready then the required action would be to expose them to the required experiences and content. It may be the case that all students have their own deficiencies and peculiar problems, this must be determined and managed before the new lesson s taught.
With over twenty years in the education sector, I have taught at all levels, I have taught all ages ranging from twelve years to sixty years. I have taught students with a wide spectrum of intellect and I have also taught groups with a wide variety of these categories. In addition, I have taught courses that are complex in scope and normally have a high failure rate. This experience has therefore created in me a master teacher who is able to cope with all these complexities at all levels of the system.
I strongly believe that if the student has not learned, the teacher has not taught!
