About Tanvi
I want to teach because I love seeing students understand concepts, gain confidence, and improve their grades, and I aim to create lessons that are structured, interactive, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I want to ensure that learning does not become a chore, but rather a portal to a world of exploration and whimsy.

I am a year 12 student, achieving all 9s across 10 subjects at GCSE.
My typical lesson would be an hour, with flexibility for each student's learning needs. In terms of my teaching approach, it is structured and exam-focused for older students, and concept-focused for younger students. I break topics down step by step, use worked examples, and practise exam-style questions. I focus on identifying gaps in knowledge, correcting misconceptions, and helping students apply what they know under time-critical conditions. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is to help GCSE students, or primary school students to improve their grades while developing confidence and independent learning skills to boost all aspects of their academic propensity.
I have teaching experience through running a Year 7 science club, where I plan and lead practical sessions to help students understand key scientific concepts such as non-Newtonian fluids, electron excitation, density and heat convection through simple demonstrations like slime, flame tests, and making lava lamps. This developed my ability to explain ideas clearly, manage different ability levels, and keep students engaged. I also am involved in weekly primary school maths outreach, supporting pupils with problem-solving and explaining topics such as 3D shapes and mathematical reasoning in a clear, step-by-step way, strengthening my ability to adapt explanations to individual learners.
