About Shannon
I helped teach the younger year students in my secondary school when I was in Sixth form. A lot of the students I helped were students whose households did not speak English as there first language. I found that a lot of these students struggled more so than most with English Literature and understanding poetry and Shakespeare. Hence, during my free periods I would join there English classes to help these students by doing one to one with them. Additional to this I also use to help out with my drama teacher in her lessons. I have always loved acting as it helps build confidence and imagination. I found that a lot of the children in her classes are all so different. I found some students enjoyed it less than others, while other students struggled with there confidence and feared being laughed at. Working in this class showed me how I must cater my teaching differently to every student as they all learn so differently from practical learning to visual and analytic learning, Some students need me to repeat something 10x before they understood and others understood it first time. I have also been tutoring for a while on Tutori for both children and adults.

Hi,
I'm Shannon and I am an English Tutor here on Superprof. I have taught English for two years now. I cater my teaching around practical methods and making sure that my students become familiar with their exam board and what they want to see in regards to achieving high grades. I offer my services to all age groups from children sitting there SAT's to adult returning back into education themselves or an individual that just simply wants to learn more. For me, I have always had a drive to learn more and experience the world around us, which is why I love to travel and extend my knowledge further. This is something I would like to share with my students, that determination and hard work will help you achieve what you want no matter your goal or circumstance.
