If you want an editor who will just look for typos and grammatical problems, then look no further. If you want him to take a heavy-handed approach to your document, rewrite it with more panache or polish, then that can also be arranged.

I customize each plan according to the student. Typically they post the essay into Google docs. I leave a number of comments, then we go over it on Skype or Google Hangouts. We may also go over a passage from a well-written book that's pertinent to an area they are currently studying or looking to major in once they go to college. It's simple, but extremely effective after a few rounds. Usually the first session is full of "ah-ha!" moments where, after years of doing the wrong thing but receiving no clear feedback, the student recognizes their mistakes and dramatically improves their writing.
