About Elsie

My teaching is very student-centric. I begin my work with each student by reviewing their past work, identifying blocks and barriers to expression, understanding or attitudes to the subject. I encourage them to set their own goals and to bring more of their own interests, thoughts, critical thinking and personality to their engagement with the subject. I teach by teaching the whole person, and believe that in English, understanding, logic and argument comes first and lucidity and style follow.
