About Shaun
Inspire Confidence and Professionalism As an experienced tutor and lecturer, I understand that every student learns differently — which is why I focus on creating a calm, encouraging, and engaging environment where ideas can grow. My aim is to help you feel confident with your camera, your creative decisions, and your understanding of photographic concepts. With over 27 years of teaching experience and a background in both academic and practical photography, I bring a wealth of knowledge to every session. I’ve supported hundreds of learners in achieving their target grades, producing strong portfolios, and progressing into higher education or creative industry roles. Professionalism, patience, and clear communication are at the heart of how I teach. You’ll always receive structured feedback, guidance tailored to your goals, and a supportive push to help you develop both technically and creatively. Photography is more than just taking pictures — it’s about seeing, thinking, and creating. My goal is to help you unlock that potential and enjoy every step of the learning process.

About Shaun — Photography Tutor Hi, I’m Shaun — a passionate and friendly photography tutor with over 27 years of teaching experience. I hold a BA (Hons) in Photography, an MA in Photography, and a PGCE in Teaching, and I currently lecture on Level 3 Extended Diploma Photography courses for 16–19-year-old students. I can also help you pass both your GCSE and A level photography courses. My approach to tutoring is relaxed, supportive, and creative. I believe photography is best learnt by doing — experimenting, analysing, and reflecting. Each session is tailored to your goals, whether you want to master camera techniques, develop a stronger portfolio, or reach those higher grades. Lessons typically last 60 to 90 minutes and combine practical exercises, image analysis, and personalised feedback. I draw on years of experience teaching studio lighting, location work, and darkroom practice, so every session offers a real-world insight into both the artistic and technical sides of photography. I’ve helped many students achieve Merit and Distinction grades, gain confidence behind the camera, and progress into university and creative industry roles. If you’re passionate about photography and want to push your work further, I’d love to help you unlock your potential and develop your own creative voice.
