About Reid
With over 6 years of experience teaching piano, I’ve come to believe that true musical growth happens when students connect emotionally with the music they play. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Piano Performance and combine this training with a warm, student-focused teaching style. My lessons blend technical development with expressive interpretation, helping students not only play accurately but also with heart. I emphasize strong foundations in music theory, finger technique, and rhythm. At the same time, I encourage creativity through guided improvisation and expressive phrasing. I work with students of all ages, from young beginners to advanced learners, and tailor each lesson to suit their pace and personality. For me, it’s important that each student feels heard and supported in their goals. I use classical repertoire, modern pieces, and technical studies to create a balanced and enjoyable learning experience. I also incorporate listening exercises and reflective discussions to deepen musical understanding. Mistakes are treated as part of the process, not something to fear. My goal is to nurture confident, expressive pianists who feel proud of their progress. Whether you're learning for exams, personal growth, or pure enjoyment, I'm here to help.
