About Naveen
I assuming you mean the first 5 minutes of the first class. This time should be used making sure they know that they are important. Being a teacher is an honor and a privilege. You have an opportunity to make a lifelong impact on those kids who just walked in your room for the first time. They will care about mathematics if they learn about it from someone who cares about them. When they know that you care about them they start to care about you and what youa are saying/teaching.
If this is late on and you just want to impress upon them that tjhey haven’t been wasting their time that is a different story.
Show them how math is used to be financially independent by teaching about compound interest
Show them how math saves lives whether through GPS to get an ambulance on time or stats to show the effectiveness of treatments and medicines or engineering to provide safety in cars.
Math changes how we live. We would all be using landlines and not cell phones if not for math. math has built houses and pyramids and bridges.
Lastly, Math alone did not do these things! Math had to use language and science and history to do all these things. language to communicate these ideas and collaborate. Science was involved in categorizing and choosing correct materials and history to look at the past to see how things were done both well and terribly to learn and improve upon.

i think you should use ncert given formulas and solution techniques because my teacher told me that they all do step marking which is done and based by ncert problem solving techniques so as much possible u use only ncert book mentioned method to solve the problem as you know no teacher is of same mind and think if u use other method that is easy for you they xan reduce your marks or maybe a good teacher gives you full marks
So as much possible use only ncert methods instead of other
But if time is less so u can use them and pray god that checker gives u full marks
