About Adria
I was THAT person who didn't eat veggies. If someone had told me that all I needed to do to become healthy was eat some kale and quinoa, I would have laughed and stated that I was a meat and potatoes kind of gal. Now, fast forward to when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. I was on a cocktail of medications, on weekly IVIG treatments, and miserable from the inflammation caused by the steroids. I was desperate! Then came the search for healing with food, and I enrolled in a plant-based culinary school here in Austin. I'm so glad I did. Within the first 30 days, I felt the difference in my level of pain and inflammation. Within six months, I visited my oncologist and was given the great news that my disorder was in remission. I've been in remission ever since. Do I still eat meat? Yes, but definitely not at the rate that I used to. Do I eat veggies? HECK YES!!! and a huge variety of veggies at that.
