About Colby
I have been teaching violin for 3 years, working with school, college, and professional students. My teaching philosophy centres on patience, motivation, and personalised guidance.
I help students master technique, understand music theory, and develop their own musical expression. I have guided over 200 students who have performed in recitals, competitions, and concerts, achieving notable milestones.
My lessons are flexible and tailored to each student’s goals, making learning enjoyable and meaningful. I strive to inspire confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student I teach.

My teaching methodology emphasises compassion, encouragement, and effective communication. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and understood, so I create lessons that are patient, fun, and personalised.
I break down techniques and musical concepts into simple, manageable steps, using demonstrations and interactive guidance. Students are encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and develop their creativity.
Being supportive is key. I guide students through challenges, celebrate progress, and help them gain confidence and independence. Beyond violin, I teach other subjects with the same approach, inspiring curiosity and a lifelong love for learning.
