About Lloyd
I've been teaching since graduating university in 2011. Since then, I've spent seven years living and working in Japan, learning about Japanese culture, society, and deepening my understanding of the language. I taught in more than 15 Japanese schools and worked as a translator for The Mainichi newspaper. I began tutoring in Japanese in 2022, a venture I've found a real passion for.

A JLPT N2-certified Japanese learner and former translator for a Japanese newspaper, I know how best to teach Japanese to keen learners. All we need is video call software and access to my ever-improving Google Document. We'll cover hiragana, simple sentences, verb and adjective conjugation, listening and reading practice, and much more. I'll also add new words to a spaced repetition app while assigning personalised homework. My teaching is informed by my own Japanese-learning journey, giving me a reliable list of solid resources and a unique insight and understanding ideal for helping those who share my mother tongue of English.
