About Dibyendu
Hello! I am Dibyendu, a visual art practitioner and researcher based in Santiniketan. I hold a B.A. in Painting and an M.A. in Art History from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University.
Over the years, my creative practice has spanned across multiple disciplines—from traditional fine art, clay modeling, and conceptual illustration to professional graphic design and award-winning cinematography. I have also had the privilege of founding and moderating cultural initiatives that bring art practitioners together.
I want to share my knowledge because I believe art should be a deeply personal and joyful journey, rather than a stressful competition. I love helping students discover their own unique visual voice. Having gone through the rigorous academic and practical training at a premier art institute, I know exactly what it takes to build a strong foundation. Whether you are a beginner looking for a creative outlet, or a serious student aiming to build a standout portfolio for art college admissions, I am here to gently guide you every step of the way.

My approach to teaching is patient, highly visual, and tailored to each student's unique creative voice. Having studied at Kala Bhavana, I believe art is not just about copying reality, but about expressing emotion, understanding composition, and finding joy in the creative process.
A typical class is divided into three parts: understanding the core concept (whether it’s light, shadow, or line work), practical hands-on sketching or painting, and finally, a gentle review where we discuss what worked well. I focus heavily on the "why" behind art, pulling from my Art History background to give students a deeper understanding of visual storytelling.
What makes my classes special is the calm, pressure-free environment I create. Whether we are doing expressive ink sketching, studying color theory, or preparing a portfolio for art college, I let the student's natural rhythm guide the pace.
These classes are designed for a wide range of students: from school children wanting to explore their imagination, to college-level students building professional portfolios, and adults looking for a relaxing, creative outlet.
