About Kenley
Hello and welcome! I am a violin tutor with 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Studies with a focus on violin. My training in classical music has given me a strong foundation in technique, musicality, and expressive performance. I am passionate about helping students discover their own expressive versatility on the violin. Lessons focus on bowing precision, vibrato control, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation to bring music to life. I provide guidance for ABRSM and Trinity exams, ensuring students are well-prepared and confident. Orchestral coaching is also part of my teaching, helping learners understand ensemble playing and musical collaboration. I design lessons that balance technical skill with expressive freedom, making learning enjoyable and meaningful. Each student receives personalized support to progress at their own pace. I encourage creativity and musical curiosity while reinforcing solid fundamentals. Lessons often include repertoire exploration, sight-reading, and performance practice. My goal is to help students not only play well but also feel the music deeply. I celebrate every achievement, big or small, to keep motivation high. Bow hold correction and scale discipline are core parts of every lesson, taught through exercises that feel fun and purposeful. I guide learners to express themselves fully through dynamics, phrasing, and tone, bringing music to life. For those who crave structure, I create step-by-step practice plans that make progress clear and achievable. I encourage confidence-building by celebrating every improvement, no matter how small. Lessons often include roleplay scenarios or imaginative exercises to make technique meaningful and memorable. I support accelerated progress by combining focused drills with creative musical projects. Each session balances technical mastery with expressive freedom, helping students feel proud of their playing. I work with learners aiming to perform, explore repertoire, or simply enjoy the joy of music. Motivation is nurtured through positive feedback, challenges, and shared musical stories.
