About Oaklyn
I am a passionate violin teacher with 8 years of experience helping students grow into confident and expressive musicians. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Early Music with a focus on Baroque Violin, supported by strong classical training and performance practice. This background allows me to guide students with both historical understanding and modern musical flexibility.
My teaching blends traditional technique with creative exploration across styles. I provide focused instruction in bowing technique, vibrato development, phrasing, and expressive interpretation. Students learn how to shape sound with control and musical intention.
I work with learners from beginner to advanced levels, adapting lessons to suit individual goals and learning styles. Alongside technique, I include music theory and stylistic awareness to build complete musicianship. I also support students in exam preparation with structured guidance and confidence building.
For those interested in ensemble playing, I offer coaching on listening skills, coordination, and group performance techniques. This helps students become more versatile and collaborative musicians.
My goal is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel motivated to improve and enjoy the process. With consistent guidance, they develop both skill and a lasting love for the violin.

My violin teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals while keeping learning enjoyable and meaningful. I guide students through proper posture, bow control, intonation, and tone production from the very beginning. Each lesson includes structured practice to improve consistency and confidence.
I place strong emphasis on sight reading so students can play new music with ease. Music theory is introduced in a simple way to help them understand what they are playing. I also work step by step on vibrato development to create a warm and expressive sound.
Students learn scales, exercises, and technical studies that strengthen their overall string technique. At the same time, I include pieces that match their level and musical interest. This balance keeps lessons both effective and exciting.
For learners who enjoy modern and popular styles, I help them develop stage presence, expression, and confidence in performance. They learn how to connect with music and perform with energy.
For those who prefer a more traditional path, I focus on precision, phrasing, and musical depth. They build strong interpretation skills and a refined playing style.
Every lesson is adapted to the student’s goals and pace. I create a supportive environment where progress feels natural. Over time, students grow into confident and expressive violinists.
