About Freya
I am a passionate violin instructor with 12 years of teaching experience and a Licentiate of Music in Violin. My approach blends classical tradition with creative expression, helping students discover both technical mastery and personal musical voice. I focus on developing strong bowing technique, expressive vibrato, elegant phrasing, and nuanced interpretation across a variety of styles. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether it is performing, preparing for exams, or exploring creative improvisation. I provide comprehensive ABRSM and Trinity exam preparation, ensuring students are confident and well-prepared for every level. Orchestral coaching is also a key part of my teaching, giving learners the skills to thrive in ensemble settings. I believe in fostering a supportive and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to take risks and grow. Lessons are engaging, interactive, and designed to build both skill and musicality. My goal is to help every student develop a love for the violin while achieving their highest potential. I welcome learners of all levels to join me in this exciting musical journey.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students build a deep love for the violin while developing strong technical skills. I guide learners from beginner to advanced levels with patience and clarity. Lessons emphasize tone quality, posture, and bow control to create a solid foundation. I integrate rhythm exercises and ensemble practice to improve timing and collaborative skills. Creative improvisation is encouraged to help students express themselves musically. Classical repertoire is explored step by step to develop interpretation and performance confidence. I provide personalized guidance to ensure each student progresses at their own pace. For those aiming to perform or record, I focus on stage presence and expressive playing. I also support learners in overcoming challenges, boosting confidence, and excelling in their goals. Lessons include sight-reading, ear training, and musical theory to strengthen overall musicianship. Regular feedback and constructive advice help students refine technique and musicality. I make learning interactive, fun, and inspiring. My goal is for every student to enjoy playing while achieving personal excellence.
