About Bria
I am a violin tutor with 6 years of experience and I have taught around 200 students across different levels. My teaching focuses on tone quality and pitch accuracy as the foundation of violin playing. I have helped students correct common issues quickly and build confidence in their sound. My sessions are structured and detail-oriented. I adapt my teaching approach based on how each student responds physically and musically. Students gain control through focused correction and smart practice. I emphasize listening skills as an essential part of improvement. My violin teaching method is centered on producing clean tone and accurate pitch through controlled technique development. I begin by focusing entirely on bow mechanics, as this directly impacts sound quality. Students learn how bow pressure, speed, and angle affect tone before progressing further. Instead of jumping into complex pieces, I use slow controlled strokes to build stability in sound. Intonation is trained using relative pitch positioning, where students understand spacing rather than memorizing finger placement. I introduce micro phrase practice, where small sections are repeated with variation to improve accuracy. Rhythm training is done separately through clapping and tapping exercises before applying it to the instrument. I delay advanced techniques like vibrato until tone and pitch stability are achieved. I also include listening-based correction, encouraging students to identify their own mistakes. Feedback is detailed and immediate. Practice routines are structured but not overwhelming. Sessions are focused and efficient. Over time, students develop consistent tone, accurate intonation, and confident performance ability.
