About Tessa
I am a violin tutor with more than 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance, focusing on Baroque Violin. I specialize in working with young children at the very beginning of their musical journey. My teaching is rooted in developing strong listening skills from an early age.
I encourage students to learn music by ear through imitation and exploration. Storytelling helps make each piece engaging and memorable. I use rhythm games to strengthen timing in a playful way. Movement is included to connect music with the body and support coordination.
Simple melodies are introduced early to build confidence and familiarity. Technique grows naturally through these activities. My teaching is inspired by Suzuki and Kodály philosophies.
Each lesson is carefully adapted to the individual child. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment. I celebrate creativity and curiosity. My goal is to make music meaningful and enjoyable.
I believe violin learning should be imaginative, playful, and filled with joy as children develop their musical ear.

My teaching approach combines strong fundamentals with musical expression on the violin. I help students feel comfortable and supported as they learn. Vibrato is a key focus in my lessons.
I teach vibrato through simple exercises that build control and ease. Students learn how to manage speed and width step by step. This helps create a relaxed and flexible motion. I always encourage slow and mindful practice.
As students progress, we apply vibrato to phrasing. I show how it can change the mood and color of the music. This helps students play with more emotion. Listening skills are developed throughout the process.
I support students in becoming more confident and expressive players. I help them connect with their sound and musical ideas. Creativity is always encouraged.
I provide clear and consistent feedback in every lesson. Students feel guided and supported at all times. I create a calm and focused environment.
My goal is to help students develop a natural vibrato and expressive tone.
