About James
James began his musical studies in Malta on the piano at the age of eight with his grandmother, pianist Cynthia Turner. He then took up violin at the age of thirteen studying with Sarah Spiteri. James achieved his grade 8 in violin in 2018 whilst being mentored by Fiona Giambra. As a violinist, he has performed with numerous ensembles including the Malta Youth Orchestra for which he has been a member of for the past five years. He has also taken part in master classes with notable violinists such as Litsah Tunah, Brian Lewis and Katy Sebastian. James has a strong interest in chamber music which led him to London where he took part in an intensive string quartet workshop under the direction of violinist Nic Fallowfield and cellist Jenny Curtis.
Recording :
As a recording artiest , James has been featured in many string quartet recordings mainly of contemporary works.
James was also featured on X factor Malta finalist Luke Chapels' Hit song 'Head in the clouds'.
Teaching experience:
James' biggest passion is teaching.
He has been active as a Violin teacher in both Malta and London for the past 4 years. James' students range from complete beginners to more intermediate players. James has plenty of experience in successfully preparing students for ABRSM exams in both Violin and music theory.
James is currently in his Second year at the London Collage of music perusing a degree in music performance under the guidance of professor Devorina Gamelova.

• James is also Active in many freelance Chamber groups who frequently perform in many venues across Malta.
