Hi, I'm a very experienced Afrikaans teacher with a solid 'Special Needs' background. (I'm teaching Primary and High School students in a creative, non-threatening manner. )

About Ilse
I am Ilse Goschus and I'm currently staying near Cape Town, South Africa. I'm a creative, innovative being. I love Art, Music, Nature, travelling, mineralogy, gardening and dancing. I write in Afrikaans and English: poems and stories for adults and children. (I have a special bond with those who are learning differently and with those who are struggling with reading and writing.)
I'm a qualified Primary School teacher and obtained a B. Prim-degree and a Special Needs Diploma: Remedial teaching and two B. Ed-Hons-degrees: Education Management and Education, Training and Development. I obtained a diploma in News Journalism at the London School of Journalism in 2016. (I taught Afrikaans from Primary School level to Grade 12.)
I worked at the district (Cape Town) as a Learning Support Advisor and for a short period in the Directorate Quality Assurance at provincial level (Cape Town.)
I absolutely love teaching and training!
I'd been teaching English in Thailand, I'd been a School Principal in Ethiopia (at an independent Primary School) and I taught Grade 3 and 5 students in Mumbai, India and those on the ASD spectrum in the Bahamas./(concealed information)

I'm integrating Music, Art and Movement into my lessons (especially with the younger ones) as my main aim is to motivate my students. I incorporate all the Language Skills: Speaking and listening, Writing, Comprehension and Language.
Step 1: I'll first be doing an informal assessment to determine the student's needs.
Step 2: Observation plays an integral part of the informal assessment. I may adapt my lessons according to the student's needs. (I'm teaching Afrikaans to Primary- and High School students and to shose with different learning needs.)
