About Emma
I am a rising sophomore at Vanderbilt University majoring in Biochemistry. I recently completed AP Chemistry and the General Chemistry sequence in college, so I am very familiar with the core concepts and problem-solving skills expected in both AP and college-level chemistry. I currently tutor chemistry students with the focus of preparing them for the AP exam.

I focus on helping students build a strong conceptual understanding of chemistry that sets them up for success on the AP Chemistry exam and beyond. Although chemistry can feel intimidating at first, I aim to make it more approachable by fostering a flexible learning environment where students can ask questions and work through challenging material at a comfortable pace.
I tailor all sessions to the student’s current level and goals. Before the first session, I typically have students complete a brief diagnostic so that I can better understand their strengths and areas for improvement. From there, we move into focused instruction where I explain concepts, guide students through practice problems, and correct misconceptions. Depending on the student’s needs, we may review foundational chemistry, work through current coursework, or practice AP-style questions. At the end of each class, I assign a problem set catered to the student's needs, which we review at the start of the next class.
My lessons are best suited for students who have taken a basic high school chemistry course and want to prepare for an honors/AP class, the AP Chemistry exam, or college-level General Chemistry.
