Hi! I’m Kalyn, from Kalyn's English. I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa.
I understand how frustrating it can be to learn a new language - especially when you know the words and grammar, but when you try to speak - it fails.

I have a truly unique way of helping learners adopt English as their own, and I do this by combining my advanced English knowledge with 14 years of opera training (where I drilled diction and presentation) and over 16 years of business experience, to help you learn English in new, natural and exciting ways.
Over time I’ve mastered the art of adapting to diverse learners. Whether it’s a child discovering their first English words, a professional polishing their business communication, or a student preparing for IELTS success, I create lessons that are as engaging as they are effective.
I know learning a language can feel daunting, which is why I focus on making every lesson supportive, fun, and tailored to my students’ goals. My background working with clients, teams, and professionals means I’m skilled at breaking down complex ideas into bite-sized, actionable steps.

My Experience and Teaching Methodology:
I'm an energetic, student-centered ESL teacher with a GA Level 5 Diploma (CELTA-aligned, 420 hours) and over five years teaching international learners from every corner of the world. I teach General English, Business English, pronunciation, and exam prep. My approach is simple but powerful: I find what excites you and build English around that. Because when you care about what you're saying, the language sticks.
Here's my edge - fourteen years of opera training. I understand breath, projection, and presence in a way most ESL teachers don't. If you want to walk into a room and own it in English - presentations, interviews, meetings, everyday conversation - I can help you get there.
I've struggled too. I know how it feels when the words won't come. But here's what I've learned: your body already knows how to speak with confidence. We just need to wake it up.
