My teaching approach is derived from how I learned most effectively in my math classes. I ask for assignments/ subject material ahead of time so I can prepare a lesson to take the student through. I like to give a short overview of the material before showing the applications to problems, let the student try to apply the material, and then help them through any problems before letting them try it on their own. Once they can solve problems for themselves I am confident they have learned and can practice on their HW)
