About Caitlin
I am currently studying at UON to become a language teacher. I am majoring in French and will also be completing a TESOL course which will allow me to teach English as a second language.
I have only tutored one student before, a friend's sister who was concerned about an upcoming exam. However, after a few sessions with me they found that they had improved greatly and achieved much better results than usual in the exam.
Despite not having much experience with tutoring, I have experience in the teaching profession as I was a Surf Instructor for 4 years, teaching all ages how to surf and skills to keep themselves safe at the beach.

My teaching method will be tailored to the students. As a recent school student myself, I believe that it is very important that one's teaching style suits the students so they can obtain the best understanding they can.
The lesson structure will typically involve a quick quiz at the start to cover what we have previously studied and then branch out into the planned content of the lesson, also finishing with a quiz. These quizzes serve the purpose of highlighting areas for improvement.
My teaching methods will always aim to actively engage students and strive for the learning experience to be enjoyable and memorable, such as including Kahoot quizzes in the lesson.
