About Yang
Hi, I’m William Yang. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. in Mathematics & Statistics and a 3.82/4.00 undergraduate GPA, and later completed a Master of Management Analytics at Rotman.
I have previous teaching experience as a peer tutor, with over 60 hours of tutoring experience across one year. I’ve studied mathematics from both theoretical and applied perspectives, including calculus, linear algebra, probability, mathematical statistics, regression, optimization, and machine learning.
I enjoy breaking difficult ideas into simpler steps and helping students understand the logic behind a method instead of just memorizing formulas. I’m patient, organized, and adaptable to different learning styles. Whether you are preparing for AP/IB exams, working through a university math course, or aiming for a higher grade, I try to make each lesson practical, focused, and encouraging.

I focus on making math clear, structured, and less intimidating. I explain concepts step by step, connect formulas to intuition, and use practice problems to make sure students can apply what they learn independently.
A typical lesson includes a quick review, concept explanation, guided examples, and targeted practice based on the student’s weak areas. I also help with homework, test preparation, and study strategies.
My lessons are suitable for high school, AP, IB, and university students, especially in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, and Probability.
