About Rizwana
Unlocking the Love for History: Inspiring Excellence in Every Student In my teaching journey, my ultimate goal is to ignite a genuine passion for history and foster a deep love for learning. I understand that the weight of exams can sometimes dim the excitement of education. However, I firmly believe that with the right strategies and personalised attention, we can tap into every student's inherent drive to excel in this subject, helping them achieve their highest potential. Over the past four years, I've had the privilege of teaching a diverse range of modules, including captivating subjects like Germany 1918 - 1945, Nazi Germany, the Cold War, Medicine through time, the Elizabethan Age, Henry VIII and his advisors, and the intriguing history of the Anglo-Saxons and Normans. Additionally, I've conducted specialised revision and exam strategy sessions. These sessions delve into essential skills such as decoding exam questions, leveraging subject-specific language to secure top marks, effective time management during exams, and the art of constructing well-structured paragraphs. I am excited and eager to embark on this enlightening journey with you, where we'll unlock the wonders of history, conquer exams, and achieve greatness together.

Join me for engaging and productive history sessions, each lasting an hour, carefully structured to maximise your learning experience: 1) Recap and Retrieve: We kick off with a quick review of what we've covered in our previous session. This retrieval practice ensures that you retain and build upon your knowledge. 2) Targeted Learning: Next, we tackle the areas where you're facing challenges. Whether it's tricky content or daunting exam questions, I customise our lessons based on your specific needs. 3) Interactive Learning: Our main session revolves around a variety of tasks designed to enhance your history skills. Among these tasks, you'll always find an extended writing exercise, vital for mastering timed exam conditions. 4) Live Feedback and Motivation: I provide real-time feedback to pinpoint areas for improvement and give you the encouragement you need to become a proficient historian. Your progress is my priority. 5) Assessment and Homework: We conclude our session with a brief assessment to gauge your understanding. I'll also assign homework to reinforce your learning and prepare you for our next productive session.
