About Briar
My teaching methodology is built on clear communication and active engagement. I ensure that each lesson is interactive, tailored to the student’s goals, and focused on building both technical skills and musical confidence. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring new ideas and asking questions. Problem-solving is a core part of my approach. This helps them strengthen their skills, think creatively, and approach music with a deeper understanding. I adapt plans to each student’s pace while setting clear objectives and practice routines. Besides guitar, I also teach related areas such as music theory, composition, and ear training, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching musical education.

I have 8 years of experience teaching guitar to high school and college students, and I am deeply committed to helping each learner discover and develop their unique musical voice. My lessons are carefully tailored to individual goals, combining technical skill-building with creative expression. I focus on developing strong fundamentals while encouraging students to explore improvisation, composition, and performance confidently.
My teaching approach balances structure with flexibility. I create an engaging and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting with new ideas, and learning at their own pace. I emphasize communication and accountability, ensuring that every lesson is purposeful and aligned with the student’s progress.
Beyond guitar, I integrate related skills such as music theory, ear training, and songwriting to provide a comprehensive learning experience. My goal is to nurture not only technical proficiency but also creativity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music, empowering students to reach their full potential and enjoy every step of their musical journey.
