About Jessica
I’m Jessica! 你好，很高兴认识你。
I’ve lived in Vancouver, London, and Shanghai, and I’m a passionate language learner who speaks four languages. I teach Mandarin Chinese, Hokkien Chinese, and I love connecting with people from different cultures.
I enjoy traveling and have visited more than 20 countries. I’m also outdoorsy and enjoy yoga, tennis, and hiking.
I believe learning a language should be enjoyable, practical, and part of everyday life.

My lessons are practical, relaxed, and focused on real-life communication. We learn in a friendly, comfortable way—no pressure, no stress. Instead of memorizing textbooks, you’ll learn how to use the language naturally in daily life, even if you’re just starting out.
Lesson types include:
Conversation Practice: relaxed, guided conversations about daily life, travel, work, and culture
Structured Speaking: useful sentence patterns, core vocabulary, and pronunciation support
Listening & Understanding: short listening exercises with clear, simple explanations
Beginner Foundations: step-by-step help with tones, pronunciation, and basic sentence building
A typical lesson includes a short warm-up chat, focused language input, real-life practice, and personalized feedback. Lessons are flexible and always adapted to your goals and pace.
What makes my lessons different is that I’m also a language learner. I understand the struggles and explain things clearly, patiently, and in a supportive way. We learn together, like friends.
My lessons are best for adult beginners to intermediate learners who want to build speaking confidence in Mandarin or Hokkien.
