About Ola
Hello,
My name is Aleksandra and I am a first year student of Economics at the University of Edinburgh. Economics is my greatest passion, which I have been exploring for five years now. I am also an enthusiast of mathematics, as I can see how useful it is in my studies. I would like to pass my knowledge and enthusiasm onto younger students.
Academic achievements
During school years I have mastered learning and examination strategies, which can be proven by my academic achievements. In 2017 I was awarded the Scholarship of the Prime Minister of Poland for Outstanding Academic Achievements. Additionally, I scored 44 out of 45 points on my International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Tutoring experience and teaching style
I tutored three students who were intermediate learners of English (as their second language). I offered one- or two-hour-long lessons. When teaching I always prioritise friendly atmosphere, which is crucial for effective learning. As a student myself, I have a good understanding of what parts of material tend to be most difficult to grasp. Each student's interests are also very important to me and I am willing to explore them during my lessons. One of my former tutees worked as a lawyer. Hence, we spent a lot of time talking about legal systems in various countries and broadening her vocabulary related to this topic.
