About Daniel
My name is Daniel and I am a University student from Oxford, England but I am a student in Edinburgh, Scotland. I study Arabic with Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies and in the future, I wish to pursue graduate and doctoral education in Arabic and Comparative Semitic linguistics before entering the workplace in academia in Semitic languages and Islamic studies. My passion for languages, linguistics and education is in every fibre of my being and this comes across in the way that I enjoy helping my friends with language work they are struggling with and have often been told that my help has been more beneficial than the official guidance they have received. This always makes me so happy to hear and I hope that you will be just as happy with the work we do together!

My lessons and the way I teach are tailor-made to who you are, the ways you like to learn, your level of prior knowledge and your goals. For those who wish to start French or English at a beginner level, I will plan lessons based on a progression we will have discussed together rooted in my recommendation and your vision. I will usually take you through a slideshow on a given topic, accompanied with worksheets, some pages from a textbook that I will provide, some independent 'homework' and then a recap on that work. establishing strengths and weaknesses before deciding on areas that need to be covered in more depth. Every student is different and a solid basis in the different aspects of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation etc are important so how we progress is based purely on how secure you are feeling on a given topic. If you are starting with a level of prior knowledge, ie for enhancing English speaking or if you are a GCSE, AS-level or A-Level student, then your progression will be dependent on the above as well as a set list of requirements that has been published by your specific exam board for your qualification. In this case, the specification and the specific objectives will be the core of the lesson progression, ensuring that we touch all bases to the required level for your success and at a pace and depth that you are most comfortable with. Care goes into every one of my lessons as well as my history of language-learning and my interest in education and linguistics.
