I've been teaching college English for over sixteen years, with high teaching evaluations for teaching quality, including being a team lead for outstanding teaching qualities, which means I've mentored other teachers on teaching effectively. I tailor feedback to your writing strengths and challenges. You send me your paper, expressing your concerns and areas of weakness. I give feedback in these areas and general feedback. My comments are thorough, specific, and specialized to your situation. Once I comment on the paper, we go over the comments during our sessions, so I don't just help you improve your paper, but I help you to build skills so you don't need more anymore and you can excel in your academic writing! We can work together on one paper, or over the course of several weeks or months on one or several writing projects.
I can help you with freshman papers, short stories, literature papers, arguments, general essays, research papers, thesis papers, academic publications, and dissertations. I work with both native and non-Native English writers. If you just want feedback, I can comment on your paper, or we can discuss your growth as an academic and writer as well.
If you're not taking a specific course, we can also practice general argumentation and academic writing skills and strategies. If you have any questions about what types of writing and assignments I can help with, please feel free to reach out!

Rachel has been tutoring me since 2015. She is very open about the structure of the lecture, always switching up the content focusing on different abilities. She helped me with fluency, writing skills and vocabulary. Her lessons are dynamic and very funny. I totally recommend her!
I have known Rachel personally for more than a decade. While I have only taken one of her classes, I can speak for what I know of her. One great thing about her is that she does what others try to do...she listens. She will go out of her way to listen and this is to her credit. When she offers advice, she offers words that are best for you based upon your goals - not what she has in mind for you. When it is a judgement call, she basis her decision on your needs or wants based on you - not something she wants. This is a major plus. I hope she continues this path for it will take her much farther than she has ever traveled.
