About Joseph
I have an undergraduate degree in Italian and Linguistics from the University of Oxford. I have seven years' experience as a private tutor, and have taught English in Italy and Canada. I'm hoping to become a teacher in the future.

When it comes to language teaching, teachers often lack the structural understanding to explain concepts in a way that's digestible for the student. When I taught English to foreign learners, we would have a conversation on any topic of their choice. If they made mistakes I would expain them in their native language, and together it just formed part of a broader conversation. Languages are fun when they make sense, but when they don't they're daunting and frustrating. By breaking down the teacher-student barrier, I make it clear that I've genuinely got as much to learn as you!
I am fluent in Italian - I have a degree in Italian from the University of Oxford, and taught English in Sicily.
