About Katrina
I am a dedicated film scholar and educator with years of experience teaching at the university level. I hold a PhD in Film Studies and have published research that reflects my deep engagement with cinema, culture, and media. Over the course of my career, I have taught a wide range of students—both in person and online—helping them develop strong writing, analytical, and research skills. My teaching method combines close reading, structured analysis, and individualized feedback. I encourage students to connect film techniques—cinematography, sound, editing, and narrative structure—to broader cultural and thematic questions. I work with students step by step to improve clarity, organization, and argumentative depth in their essays.
A typical lesson begins with a short discussion of the assignment or film under study, followed by targeted exercises in thesis development, evidence gathering, and essay structure. I provide guided feedback on drafts and offer strategies for revision, so students gain practical tools for academic success.
What sets me apart as a tutor is the depth of my scholarly background—I hold a PhD in Film Studies, have published my dissertation, and have taught at the university level for years, both in-person and online.
