About Laura
Hello! I am a University of Cambridge graduate (1st Class degree) now researching the process of speciation (the formation of new species) in our own lineage for my PhD. In terms of teaching experience, have supervised Cambridge undergraduates for 4 evolutionary biology papers (courses) for two years, and in terms of my own exposure to biology curricula, I took Biology at Higher Level at IB (and received a 7 - or A* equivalent). I absolutely love biology and hope to share my enthusiasm for it with tutees. My focus has always been on letting students develop their own frameworks within which to examine questions in biology; I find this is much more engaging than rote-learning, and facilitates memorisation, ever so crucial for school exams, much better.
I can also teach Dutch (my mother tongue, although I have lived in England for the last 10 years) up to degree level, and am happy to tutor English students as well.
