About Mohammed Ahmer
I just love math and logic and I believe there is no one who is ever bad at math, just kids who never had the right teachers. In my school life I have been blessed with incredible teachers so I try to make sure that others get to experience the same.
I am also a computer science student in my final semester at the UofA and have volunteered to teach math at university level with great results.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand why a method works, so they can apply it confidently to new problems. I use practical demonstrations and step-by-step explanations to make abstract concepts easier to understand. I encourage questions throughout the lesson and I am big on the Socratic method.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of what the student is learning and where they feel stuck. We then work through an example together, discussing the reasoning behind each step. Next, the student tries similar problems with guidance before tackling one independently. We finish by reviewing the main ideas and identifying what needs more practice.
As a University of Alberta Computer Science student with volunteer tutoring experience, I bring a logical, practical approach to teaching mathematics. I aim to create a patient, welcoming environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and developing their own problem-solving skills.
