About Olivia
Hi! My name is Olivia and I am a student at the University of Leeds studying for a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (I promise it is not as scary as it seems!). I have many interests from sports like netball to reading books and scrapbooking. It's safe to say I have a lot to chat about! My main goal in my lessons is to make you feel at ease and create an environment in which you feel comfortable to make mistakes and reflect, it's all part of the learning process. I look forward to teaching some of you :)

I believe that teaching should be personalised to the student, encouraging them to perform at their best potential. Therefore, throughout my tutoring, I adapt to my pupils' learning methods. Whether this be using visual aids, interactive discussions or using retrievals to improve content memory. I find reassurance and support to be crucial throughout my work as it establishes a safe environment in which the student can reflect on their mistakes and grow from them. The typical length of a lesson can be anything between 30 minutes to 2 hours. I have acquired grades 9 in the following GCSEs: maths, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, Spanish. I also achieved grades 8 in GCSE computer science and English language/literature. At A-level, I acquired a grade A in biology, B in chemistry and B in Spanish. I am currently studying for a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Leeds. Before enrolling at university, I took a year out and worked full time as a Learning & Progress Assistant, which involved working with KS3 in various subjects, helping SEND students, and I also tutored A-level Biology, Spanish and chemistry. These tutoring sessions varied from groups to 1-1. My lessons are for Key Stage 3 maths and biology.
