About Daniya
I’m a student at the University of Western Ontario, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology. I have experience as a Research Assistant at Western’s Brain and Mind Institute, where I assist graduate researchers with projects involving the human brain and motor system. In addition, I serve as the President of Smart Steps Tutoring, a non-profit that provides free tutoring services to students in grades 1–8. I specialize in Biology, Chemistry, and related sciences, and I love making complex topics easier to understand by connecting them to real-world examples. I’m fluent in English, French, and Urdu, and I’m known for being patient, organized, and approachable. My goal is to help students build both knowledge and confidence in their studies.

I have extensive experience in tutoring through my role as President of Smart Steps Tutoring, a non-profit organization that provides free academic support to students in grades 1–8. In this role, I not only tutored students directly in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Math, but also coordinated other tutors, organized lessons, and ensured that families received consistent, high-quality support. This experience has taught me how to adapt explanations to different learning styles, keep students engaged, and build their confidence in challenging subjects. Combined with my Biology degree at the University of Western Ontario and my strong academic background in science, I bring both subject knowledge and practical teaching experience. I am patient, organized, and skilled at breaking down complex ideas into clear, approachable steps, making me well-qualified to support students in reaching their academic goals.
