About Jakayla
I am a Biology Pre-Medicine student that graduated from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor at the top-ten percent of my class with Honors. I have been a teaching assistant for many chemistry courses, such as college chemistry, general chemistry, and biochemistry. As a teaching assistant provided students with lab demonstrations, provided assistance with calculating chemistry problems and writing lab reports, and I was responsible for grading chemistry lab reports and lecture homework. I have taken a variety of courses that I have excelled due to my passions to make a impact in the medical field, such as biology, microbiology, statistics, biochemistry, general chemistry, developmental psychology, and even upper level extracurricular courses such as regenerative medicine and global health ethics. I am currently working on applying to medical school to make an impact on children’s health, and to reach my goal to potential find a cure for childhood cancer. I know that my goal of reducing the pain and suffering of childhood cancer can only be accomplished by the knowledge I gain, which inspires me to help students advance their knowledge and understanding of different subjects, so they can reach their full potentials and goals they desire to accomplish in life.
