About Natalia

Hello everyone, my name is Natalia Orlandella and I am a sophomore at the University of Rhode Island. Currently, I am triple majoring in English, Finance, and Marketing. Although, before this year I was undecided so I have taken a variety of classes in several different subject areas. As you can see, I am well-versed in a variety of subjects especially when it comes to English. I am also in the honors program so I am always getting good grades on my assignments and almost always have the answer to any questions you might have. In terms of experience, I just started tutoring students who go to my college this year, who have all told me I do a great job! But, I would like to expand my boundaries a little and would love to help other college/younger students!

About the lesson

In terms of what subjects I tutor, I am super flexible. In English, I can tutor any level including college-level students. In Math, I can tutor up to pre-calculus level students. And in History and Science, I can tutor up to high school level students.
Now in terms of my teaching methods, I am also very flexible and will alter my methods in any way possible to best suit my student's needs. Although, I typically like to tutor kids in a question-based way simply because the purpose of questioning is to get students actively involved in their learning by evoking responses from them instead of giving them information. I give my students just the right amount of time to consider my questions and if they don’t understand, I rephrase the question. This is a great method and works wonders because questions progress from what the student knows, and progresses toward new ideas which I then guide the student toward with directed questioning.
